The popular trend for spring
Short hair is the newest thing right now. A lot of celebrities are sporting short hair and people really pay attention to what these movie stars and celebrities are doing- they’re not necessarily paying attention to what the runway is doing because that’s somewhat unrealistic for them and can appear kind of far-fetched, like what you see in the runway shows in Milan and Paris.
An important thing to remember is that celebrities change their hairstyles quickly and sometimes may simply be wearing short-haired wigs. And if they do cut their hair short, a few months later, they’ve suddenly got extensions in their hair. The woman who’s going to cut her hair short needs to be able to maintain her short hair style for a long while because, obviously, it takes time to grow hair out.
The woman who goes for short hair
For me, short hair makes a statement. A woman who is confident is the woman who will wear short hair. She feels secure about her looks, secure about her style and feels good walking out and letting people see that stark change. And it is about a shocking change — if someone is willing to go for that shock value and really change everything about themselves, that’s definitely the type of person who would go for the short hair style.
Work it
Short hair is really beautiful, exciting and sexy. It’s my favorite hair, in fact. I find it very feminine. I think the person who’s wearing it is just a very confident individual and I find that short hair is a lot more versatile. Short hair can be a pixie, longer than a pixie, anything that is shorter than a bob and up to a pixie. And you can have a lot of looks and have different personas and I think that’s fun- to be able to take a different persona based on how you’re going to style your hair that day. And it fits a lot of fashion trends. You don’t have to be stuck in one look. You can wear a suit, slick your hair back or do a pompadour. You can wear something soft and sexy and flowery and add a lot of curl and wave and fullness to it. You can take on a lot of different looks.
Short hair has been happening for years, from Linda Evangelista cutting her hair short to actresses like Carey Mulligan and Emma Watson. People get excited when they see something like that happen- it definitely gets the most attention.
The looks
Attitude, hairstyle, texture of hair, color of hair, a lot of it is important. Not everyone can or should wear short hair. But there are ways of going about it. It’s about setting realistic expectations. If your hair is completely straight, your expectations for the look should be different compared to wavy hair, or if the hair is fuller or thicker. Just understand that yes, you may see someone wearing a short haircut and you may want the same thing but it’s going to be different; it has to be different to match your specific look.
