Two weeks ago, Lollapalooza celebrated its 25th year in Chicago. The small music festival that debuted in 1991 now rivals festivals like Coachella, Burning Man and SXSW, and this year was saw Lana Del Rey, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others grace its stages.
Keeping your hair picture perfect throughout your favorite musical acts is tough, but this year we saw festival-goers adopt hair styles from some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities to keep their hair looking great all festival long. We’ve put together some of our favorite Lolla-looks below, perfect for your next concert, or another day out in the sun.
It’s all about the buns. This care-free look is a summer staple, and looks great with all hair types and hair colors. As seen on celebrities like Rihanna and Vanessa Hudgens, the messy bun was front and center at Lolla this year. The perfect hairstyle for those who want to look stylish and stay cool during warm weather, this is an easy look to achieve that works with any outfit. The messier the better!
New mommy, Chrissy Teigen, always has the perfect soft waves. Amidst her busy life as a model, mother, cookbook author, television co-host and wife to singer John Legend, her hair is always on point. Singer Dupa Lipa performed at Lolla on Saturday, and the songstress’s sported similar wavy brown locks throughout the weekend.
At our Kérastase event earlier this year, we too perfected the soft festival waves. Start off by priming your hair with Thermique Nectar that will help protect hair from heat styling. Then curl your hair and spray with our favorite Kérastase Spray à Porter. To finish off spray some Powder Bluff around your roots, massaging to achieve volume.
At Coachella this year, Kylie Jenner sported some pastel rainbow-colored boxer braids. Boxer braids were a hit at Lollapalooza this year, with attendees accessorizing their strands with barrettes or dyed strands.
If you are as adventurous as Kylie, then visit our River North or Gold Coast locations to get your custom dye. Or, for a more moderate rendition of Kylie’s stunning festival look, just opt for the boxer braids. Part your hair in the middle and French braid both sections to channel your inner fighter.
